Looking for help? That's why I'm here!Jennifer Hunter, CPDT-KA | Certified Professional Dog Trainer
Dogs bring so much love and joy to our lives – they are truly members of our family. But even beloved family members can have some less-than-desirable habits and behaviors that can cause stress and aggravation. The good news is, there are effective force-free training methods and you don't have to figure this out on your own. My role is to help you learn how you can motivate your dog(s) to perform & repeat the behaviors you find desirable-in the clearest & kindest ways possible. |
Save your soles!(...and furniture cushions, woodwork, handbags!)
with gentle & effective behavior modification methods. Let's face it, some dogs are chewers. Even the tiniest, sweetest, and fluffiest of them can wreak havoc on your favorite pair of shoes, that new rug you've only had a week, and anything else they can manage to get their little chompers on. I'm here to help you get to the root of any undesirable behavior so you can enjoy your dog and your favorite shoes!

I Have Solutions for Common Behavior Challenges
1. Does your dog get mouthy or aggressive when playing with you or your kids?
2. Does your dog get possessive when you try to take food, bones, or toys away from him/her? 3. Does your dog growl or snap at you when you try to move him/her from your couch or bed? 4. Does your dog get overly protective & aggressive when guests come to your home? 5. Does your dog lunge, bark, or growl at the end of his/her leash when he/she sees other dogs when out on a walk? 6. Is your dog reluctant to go out for a walk in general-or does he/she seem scared & anxious at times on your walks? If you answered "yes" to any of these questions and would like to learn how my science-based training methods & techniques can help, I'd be happy to chat with you. Please call (847) 624-3804 or email me. I look forward to talking with you. |
My Training Philosophy
As the owner of Positive Partnership Training, I see the training process as one of teamwork-in which both the dogs & their guardians are learning & having fun. In fact, I find the term "dog trainer" to be a bit of a misnomer-as my role is to teach people how they can motivate their dog(s) to perform & repeat the behaviors they find desirable. The more you can make learning a game for your dog, the more eager he or she will be to learn! And if our dogs are learning more quickly & easily, we humans will enjoy the training process more, as well:-)
I utilize science-based training methods & techniques to achieve this goal-as I am dedicated to having the most humane tools in my training tool box. Reinforcing behaviors you would like your dog to repeat-rather than punishing or correcting them for behavior you don't like-has been proven to be the most effective, clear & kind way to teach any animal.
While it is tempting to look for a quick-fix, guaranteed method of eliminating problem behaviors in your dog, the reality is that changing behavior in any creature-human, canine, or other-takes time, patience, & commitment. Training your dog will be an ongoing process-& one in which both you & your dog will be full participants. I look forward to each new opportunity to help improve & strengthen the relationship between you and your canine companion(s)!
